On March 13, 2013, Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s new fragrance, “Amyris Femme” (70ml／16,800 yen) will be sold in stores in Japan.
Amyris is a shrub of the citrus family with a dry but warm scent. The new fragrance is a combination of amyris and a powdery scent extracted from the rhizome of Dalmatian irises.
Francis Kurkdjian created his first fragrance named Le Male for Jean-Paul Gaultier in 1995. He then opened a custom-made fragrance atelier in Paris in 2001. From 2009, he began his own fragrance line, Maison Francis Kurkdjian. Kurkdjian is referred to as the 21st century genius of “scents” and has been creating bold classic fragrances from fine quality materials.
Kurkdjian’s fragrances are adored worldwide and are highly acclaimed for its use of quality materials to create pure and intense scents. “Aqua Universalis” Eau de toilette (70ml／15,750 yen), a best seller fragrance with clean scents which reminds one of washed linen, is available at department stores Isetan Shinjuku and Hankyu Umeda.
