From May 21st to June 20th, “Maximage Societe Suisse”, a typographer unit of Switzerland, is holding an exhibit at the G/P Gallery in Ebisu, Tokyo.
The exhibit presents the latest poster titled “Multi Plakatix”. Limited edition tote bag designed with the unit’s typoface is sold at the gallery. Also on sale are their limited number collection catalogues, “Typeface as Program” and “Maximage Fomula Guide”, both of which are truly hard to get in Japan.
Maximage Societe Suisse consists of David Keshavjee and Julien Tavelli. Based in Lausanne, Switzerland and Berlin, Germany, Maximage Societe Suisse is acclaimed for its designs created by combining innovative print techniques and experimental manual processing. The unique method is appraised as “Neo-analogue”, and its designs can be seen on a wide ranging body of works: graphic designs, photographs, self-publications, posters, books and collection catalogues. Maximage Societe Suisse also provides their techniques for book designs, catalogues, web and other commission works. In Japan, its fonts are used on the logo of “ReStyle” in Isetan Shinjuku Main Store.
