“Olympia Le-Tan” well known for the handmade book-shaped clutch bags will present new bags at the special corner in TSUTAYA BOOKS, Daikanyama from May 25th to June 14th.

The 2013 SS Collection reflects the roots of Olympia as a music lover and DJ on its design. Conceiving ideas from Jazz, Blues, Motown, and Phil Spector produced Wall of Sound girls’ band music, Olympia adorns 7-inch-book-like clutch bags and disc jacket style bags with a disc, music score or music related cover.

In line with the books associated with the new bags selected by TSUTAYA BOOKS, the world views of Olympia and TSUTAYA BOOKS that embrace mutual passion towards “books” will be introduced.

The bags are well-liked among Hollywood actresses such as Natalie Portman, Michelle Williams, Tilda Swinton and art collectors, who are very selective about fashion items. Besides its cuteness, the design that tickles intellectual curiosity is the secret to the popularity. Handmade and limited in number, each bag is the envy of collectors.

It was recently announced that Olympia had been selected as a finalist in “ANDAM Fashion Award” for new designers, which had previously been awarded to Martin Margiela, Christophe Lemaire and Julien David. This time, haute couture designer Iris Van Herpen, Alexandre Mattiussi of men’s brand “AMI” and others are also the finalists of the award. The winner will be announced on July 4th.
