Ex-AKB48 member Kaoru Mitsumune will hold her first solo exhibit in October. Known by her fans to draw characteristic illustrations, Mitsumune announced the news of her solo exhibit via Twitter.

After leaving AKB48, Mitsumune has been working as a model. Her reason for leaving the group was due to medical reasons, which created concerns for fans, but she has recently been seen as campaign model for a fashion website looking happy and healthy.

Mitsumune has been drawing as a hobby for some time now and her works have a unique touch. On her Twitter profile it is written that she enjoys drawing using a ball point pen and that she plans to hold an exhibit this year. On Apr. 3rd, she revealed over Twitter that she was going to stay home every Thursday to dedicate time to her art and that her first priority was to hold an exhibit, which she did not want to delay.

According to her announcement on Twitter, her solo exhibit will be held from Oct. 11th to 20th at Galaxy Gallery of Chuo-ku, Osaka. Further details are to be announced at a later time.

Mitsumune comments as follows, “Drawing has become even more fun since the exhibit has been scheduled. Before, drawing was a way for me to kill time but now that I have the purpose of showing my works, I feel challenged and motivated. I would like many people to come see my work, even if they have only vaguely heard of me.”

Mitsumune recently restarted her career, this time as a model and her new challenge to take on art is also something that fans look forward to.
