A large scale exhibit of the works of illustrator Yuko Sugimoto, who passed away in 2011, will be held in Ginza from Oct 4. The exhibit is titled “yuko sugimoto |Selfish” and will open at the Pola Museum Annex in Ginza, Tokyo. The exhibit will also be held in Osaka from Nov 8 to Jan 17, 2014 at Nakanoshima Banks.

The space is designed by groovisions, whose founder Hiroshi Ito was an old acquaintance of Sugimoto.

The exhibit will also hold a pre-sale of Sugimoto's first compilation of illustrations titled “Yuko Sugimoto Illustration Box- Forever Beauty”, which is scheduled to be released on Oct 9 from Kodansha.

Yuko Sugimoto was born in Osaka in 1967. After working as a makeup assistant for Yasumasa Morimura’s self-portrait series “actress,” she worked as an illustrator for the beauty pages of magazine “SAVVY.” Sugimoto became famous for her illustrations for beauty magazine “VoCE” and came to handle illustrations for other magazines such as “SPUR,” “Sweet” and “BAILA.”
