OOTEMORI, a new commercial facility located on the B1 and B2 floors of Otemachi Tower (address: 1-5-5 Otemachi Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), opened on Oct 2.

The facility targets women working in the Otemachi area. 25 new stores focusing on dining, foods and services opened. The line-up includes: Epicerie Bonheur from supermarket group Seijo Ishii, Spanish restaurant by HUGE “La Pesquera -MARISQUERIA-,” PRONTO ILBAR, HAL YAMASHITA Lounge, curry shop, Thai restaurant, oyster bar, sandwich shop, Italian café, delis and more. Each store is relatively small in size and is suitable for customers in groups of 2 to 4 people. The design of the facility was handled by Shinichiro Ogata of SIMPLICITY.

The entrance with 15-meter high ceiling located on B2F is connected with the passage to the subways of Tozai line and Marunouchi line. From there, one can enjoy the view of the garden “Otemachi no Mori” spread from the B1F to 1F with the area totaling to approx. 3,600 square meters. The garden was created as a part of the extension project of Marunouchi Naka-dori.

A rep from the developer Tokyo Tatemono explains, “While Marunouchi Naka-dori has been renewed and newly developed, Otemachi area remained unchanged. There were many old buildings that housed stores for male office workers. This time, we’ve leased OOTEMORI’s spaces to the brands and restaurants which will attract women. We want female workers to stop by for lunch or on their way home from work.”

Part 2 of the project is due to be completed by next spring. Facing the passage to the two subway lines, 5 stores such as fashion accessories, cosmetics and café will be housed, with sunlight shining in through glass walls.
