From Nov 16 to Dec 25, “Mikimoto Jumbo Christmas Tree” will be lit up at the Mikimoto main store (address: 4-5-5 Ginza Chuo-ku, Tokyo).

The theme for this year is “treasure box.” 12 different colors of original LED lighting will shine with illumination in the shape of jeweled rings at the foot of the tree. During the event period, the tree will light up from 11 am to 8 pm. On the hour, music will accompany the lights to create a special atmosphere.

The lighting ceremony will take place from 4:15 pm on Nov 16. Four elementary school students selected from an entry process open to the public will participate in the lighting of the tree. At the same time, viewers will be distributed wristbands, which can be used to spread the light of the tree to the rest of Ginza. Also, Christmas songs will be performed on the spot by male chorus group jammin' Zeb.

The Mikimoto Jumbo Christmas Tree decorates the main store every year since 1976. A fir tree with its roots still attached is shipped from Hokkaido. After the closing of the event, the tree is donated to nearby public facilities.
