Specially designed travel cases from Maison Martin Margiela in collaboration with UK brand “Globe-Trotter” will go on sale.

Globe-Trotter’s archive trunks with its stickers coming off, and stains and scratches in trompe l’oeil prints express the time of the 1920s to 50s. These tie in with Margiela’s 2014 SS theme, “passing of time.” Globe-Trotter has teamed up with many others in the past, but this is the first time that it introduces an original exterior for the travel cases.

Vulcanized fiber and tanned leather are used for the body and belt respectively, with wooden handles handmade by artisans. 21-inch (54×39×18cm) trolley bag (priced at 304,500 yen) and 30-inch (75×44×24cm) extra deep suitcase (priced at 378,000 yen) are available in two colors, sepia and monotone.

The items will be pre-sold from Dec 11 at L'ESPACE Maison Martin Margiela on the 3rd floor of Isetan Shinjuku. They will also be sold at the brand’s stores around Japan in March.
