TARO HORIUCHI (designer: Taro Horiuchi) will hold pop-ups at Isetan Shinjuku from Nov 20 to Dec 3, at Matsuya Ginza from Dec 4 to 10, and at Nihonbashi Takashimaya from Dec 11 to 17.

The brand introduces the first pre-collection for 2014 SS season. Themed after Stephanie Quayle, who works based on Isle of Man, UK, it created casual wear imaged after her life surrounded by nature and her animal sculptures.

Apparel, bags, sneakers, sundries and more items will be lined up. Exclusive items, Quayle’s sculptures and paintings are also available.

Horiuchi attended Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp. While at school, he won the ITS Diesel Award, from a fashion contest held in Italy in 2003. Presented capsule collections in 13 countries. After graduating from school with the highest rank in his class, he went to France. Founded TARO HORIUCHI in 2008. In 2012, won the Rookie of the year award at the 30th Mainichi Fashion Award and the Shiseido Honorable Mention Award.

Quayle was born on a farm house in Isle of Man situated between UK and Ireland. Acquired a MBA degree from Royal College of Art in London in 2007. In Japan, she is well known for the large elephant objet located at the entrance of Dover Street Market Ginza. She held the first solo exhibit in Japan at nantenshi gallery in Ginza this March.
