On Nov 29, Japan’s largest electronic music festival dubbed “electraglide” will open. As part of the event, the “Red Bull Music Academy Session” will be held by media artist Daito Manabe.

Daito Manabe is an artist who works in the fields of media art, music and advertisement. He is known best for his work with techno pop idol unit Perfume.

Adrian Sherwood, the pioneer of UK dub music will also participate as lecturer. He has produced music for Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Primal Scream and others. For the lecture, he will bring selected dub music and provide detailed explanations.

Participation is limited, based on a first-come first-serve basis, and is only open to those who have purchased tickets for electraglide 2013. For Sherwood’s lecture, 40 translation devices will be handed out. Details on reservation are provided on Red Bull Music Academy’s website.

At the lecture space, videos of lectures by Ryuichi Sakamoto and Carsten Nicolai, and Debbie Harry of Blondie will be screened with Japanese subtitles.

In addition, an exhibit of selected photos from the art book “For the Record” (from Gestalten) will be held in line with the 15th anniversary of Red Bull Music Academy.
