Two legendary shoe creators, Yoichiro Kitadate, known for his involvement in Nike’s Air Jordon and Reebok’s Pump Fury projects, and Noritaka Tatehana, the go to shoe designer for Lady Gaga, opened the select shop “T6M” in Ebisu, Tokyo. Shop address: 1-20-3 Ebisuminami, Shibuya-ku.
Under the concept, “Breath to Comfortable Life,” shoes, clothes, sundries, foods and interior items are in store. Shoes are mainly from the brand “The Daughters,” a joint sneakers brand by Tatehana and Kitadate. For clothes, items from GANRYU of the COMME des GARCONS group and sportswear from ISAORA are lined-up. Women’s wear will be added to the lineup in the near future.
Organic soaps from the Netherlands, olive oils from Italy and socks from The Tastemakers & Co. are also among the lineup.
At the art space dubbed “Pocket,” Tatehana will select art pieces to display and sell, which will be updated every 3 months. Currently on exhibit are art posters by Yoshitaro Yamazaki, who handled illustrations for “The Daughters,” and Nobuaki Kato. All pieces were specially created for the art space (limited number of 100, each comes with serial number). 8 different types, retailed at 18,900 yen each. “In Japan, it is rare for people to purchase art. By creating an art space within the store, we hope to familiarize customers with the concept of enjoying and buying artworks,” explained Fumihiro Iki of The 6th Man Company Ltd.
“We want to propose various items from apparel to foods and art. We will change the lineup periodically to continue to attract the customers,” added Mr. Iki.
