JR East Station Retailing will support the “FELISSIMO Happy Toys Project” once again through its ecute commercial facilities.

A 4.6-m Christmas tree decorated with this year’s character Run-run (a horse) will be set up within the Nippori station from Dec 1 to 25. From 1:30 pm on Dec 1, an opening ceremony featuring actress Yoshie Okuyama and from 2:15 pm, a workshop by Okuyama to make stuffed animals will be held. Other workshops to make stuffed animals will be held at the ecute facilities in Omiya, Shinagawa and Tachikawa, and mAAch ecute Kanda Manseibashi. Also, stuffed animal kits will be sold at the above mentioned ecutes and Nippori station. Handmade stuffed animals will be collected at or sent via post to ecute Nippori to be given to the children who evacuated from Fukushima and live in Tsukuba, Ibaraki, a friendship city of Arakawa-ku, Tokyo.

FELISSIMO Happy Toys Project designs stuffed animals using fabrics from clothing and others sitting in people’s closets. After showcasing the stuffed animals at events, they are sent as presents to children around the world. The project was launched in 1997, and up until now, over 47,000 stuffed animals have been created and donated to facilities, hospitals and refugee camps.
