A rooftop skate rink dubbed “Sora (Sky) × Niwa (Garden) × Ice Park” will open at Matsuya Ginza from Dec 13. Until Mar 2, 2014.

The event aims to attract 30,000 visitors; mainly couples and women in their 20s to 30s. By attracting this crowd to the event, the department store seeks to expand its clientele.

The rink is imaged after a silver forest, and a white Christmas tree and lights decorate the space. Every night from 8 pm, artificial snow will flutter for 10 minutes. At the bar set up in the same area, foods such as the soup from LECCORNIA PER Uccellino located on the B1 floor of Matsuya Ginza, and drinks such as hot chocolate, hot sangria, hot mojitos will be served.

Opening hours are from 11 am to 10 pm (final entry by 9 pm, last order for food and drinks by 9:30 pm). Admission costs 2,100 yen including the cost to rent skates (entry until 5 pm). From 5 pm onwards, admission costs 2,900 yen. Elementary school students and under will need to pay 700 yen to enter. Discount available for those who reserve in advance.
