lucien pellat-finet teams up with the architect Kengo Kuma to present the “tree chair” collection. The collection will go on sale from the end of January at the brand's Tokyo Midtown, Omotesando and Shisaibashi stores.
The collection introduces 5 colors: blue, orange, white, gray and black. The back and the seat of the chairs can be made with different color wood. The signature of Kuma and lucien pellat-finet's logo are inscribed at the back of each chair. Made in Japan. Comes in a special package made of cardboard. Priced at 577,500 yen.
“I designed the chairs to look like trees. The essence of trees is the soft complex created by the twining of fibers. This bunch of fibers is like the cashmere designed by lucien pellat-finet, which gently wraps around the body. I wanted to design a chair which is gentle to the human body and drew inspiration from trees,” explained Kuma. He is also responsible for the interior designs of the Tokyo Midtown and Shinsaibashi stores of the brand.
