The collection “Roundel By London Underground,” celebrating the 150th anniversary of the London metro, will be launched in Japan on Jan 11. At Dover Street Market Ginza (DSMG).
The Air Max 1 (16,275 yen) and Air Max 90 (16,800 yen) sneakers in collaboration with Nike will be sold exclusively at DSMG. The design of the upper is inspired from the train seats of the metro and the tongue is embroidered with Roundel’s logo. Sizes range from 26 to 30 cm in half size intervals.
A lineup of items such as tees, work shirts, school blazers, pants and scarves introducing graphics of textiles used for train seats and the image of the route map of the metro will be in store. 2 types of shirts with the motif of the metro logo “Roundel” in black or white will also be sold. Sizes S, M or L. Priced at 6,300 yen each.
When the collection was launched last month at the kiosk located within Piccadilly Circus Station of the London Underground, a long line of people awaited to purchase items from the special collection. Slam Jam, a global distributor for street brands including Carhartt and Stussy, and Andrew Bunney, the designer of jewelry brand “Bunney,” serve as creative directors.
