On Jan 24, the Mikimoto × Hello Kitty jewelry collection was revealed for the first time at the select shop “colette” in Paris.

In celebration of Hello Kitty’s 40th anniversary, Mikimoto designed collaboration jewelry using the finest quality pearls. The collection consists of twenty designs, and one item of a few of the designs is available for order and purchase. An elegant pearl necklace comes with a pair of earrings and is priced at 29.085 million yen. Hair jewelry costs 997,500 yen. The prices reflect the quality of the designs. The made-to-order tiara with strawberry motifs made of rubies and flowers designed with mother of pearls will be priced around 100 million yen. The two strawberries decorating the sides of the tiara can be opened to reveal Hello Kitty and her boyfriend Daniel hidden inside. The silver and pearl bangle (55,000 yen) and ring (260,000 yen) are among the items which are relatively reasonable.

At the reception to introduce the special collection, a model wearing a balloon dress designed by artist unit “Daisy Balloon” perfected the look with the jewelry from the collection. The collection will go on sale from Jan 30 at the Ginza main store. At colette, the items will be pre-sold from Jan 27 including a blue ribbon necklace (680 euros), earrings (685 euros) and necklace (3,970 euros), which will be sold exclusively at the store and will not be introduced in Japan for a while.
