Eiki Mori is the winner of the 39th Kimura Ihei Award (2013) given by the Asahi Shimbun Company.

The awarded work is the photo collection titled “intimacy” published from Nana Roku Sha Publishing. Intimate relationships with Mori’s lover, friends and sometimes with himself are depicted. The official announcement was made in the morning newspaper of Asahi Shimbun and will also be announced in the March issue of the magazine “Asahi Camera,” which will be in stores from Feb 20. Details including the process of screening will be revealed in the magazine’s April issue.

Mori was born in 1976 in Ishikawa prefecture. Graduated from Parsons The New School For Design in 2001. His primary work involves editorials.

The awards ceremony will be held at Tokyo Kaikan in Marunouchi from 6:30 pm on Apr 17. At the ceremony, the winner will receive an awards certificate, medal and cash reward of 1,000,000 yen. The awarded photos will go on display at the Konica Minolta Plaza (Gallery C) in Shinjuku from Apr 17 to 24.

This award is sent to new photographers each year and was set up in 1975 in honor of the photographer Ihei Kimura. In the past, Shinya Fujiwara, Kyoichi Tsuzuki, Takashi Homma, Mika Ninagawa, Hiromix and Kayo Ume have received the award.
