The world’s largest international apparel fabrics and accessories trade fair “Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics- Spring Edition 2014” will open at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center. From Mar 3 to 5. Exhibitors from 1,400 companies across 23 countries/regions will gather at the fair.

The previous fair held in Beijing introduced 1,344 companies from 16 different countries/regions, and a total of 25,000 people from 71 different countries/regions visited. With the venue of the upcoming fair being Shanghai, there is anticipation of large numbers of visitors from overseas. The fair celebrates its 20th anniversary and has become to be considered as a great opportunity to create new businesses and discover new types of textiles.

The fair is comprised of three venues; Hall-1, 2 and 4. At Hall-1, Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Netherlands, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, England along with the German and Portuguese pavilions and Milano Unica from Italy, will be featured as Salon Europe. From Asia- China, Korea, Pakistan, Taiwan as well as approx. 20 Japanese companies will exhibit items including high quality cotton, knitted fabrics, synthetic fibers and silk. Creative fabrics for middle class to high end markets will be showcased in the zone dedicated to design.

Hall-2 lines up textiles from domestic exhibitors including the China Bast and Leaf Fibers Textile Association. Domestic accessories (materials, fabrics and accessories) will be gathered in Hall-4. At the Yarn Expo pavilion, a total of approx. 230 companies from China, Hong Kong, India, Korea, Pakistan, Portugal, Singapore, Switzerland, Turkey, US and Uzbekistan will exhibit their items.

The fair also serves the important role of communicating the latest trends. The Intertextile Directions Trend Committee, consisting of members such as Doneger Creative Services (New York), Elementi Moda (Milan), NellyRodiTM Agency (Paris) and Sachiko Inoue of JFW Japan Creation, has set up four themes to express the trends of the upcoming 2015 SS season. At the fair, seminars relating to designs and trends, technology and solutions and market information will be available.

The fair is organized by the Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd., CCPIT-Tex and the China Textile Information Center.
