The third season of the Onitsuka Tiger × Andrea Pompilio collaboration presents a women’s line for the first time. The 2014 SS women’s collection is currently being sold at Re-Style Sports of Isetan Shinjuku (3F).

The theme for spring/summer is “Los Angeles Underground.” Original geometric prints and vivid colors such as blue and yellow decorate designs imaged after hip-hop and rap. Graphics resemble spray art and tattoos, which are inspired from musicians, artists and break dancers that Pompilio met in the underground scene of LA.

“The designs for women appear to be unisex, but I have introduced feminine forms and parts, such as roses for graphics,” explained Pompilio.

Andrea Pompilio was born in Pesaro, Italy in 1973. His father is an architect, his mother an artist, and his grandfather a manager of a boutique. After studying fashion at Pesaro and Milan, he worked for brands such as alessandro dell'acqua, Prada and Yves Saint Laurent. Pompilio launched his first collection in the 2011 Autumn Winter season. In June of the same year, he presented the 2012 Spring Summer collection at Pitti Uomo and won the grand prize for new designer. In 2013, he was chosen for Giorgio Armani’s initiative to support up-and-coming Italian designers.
