Tod’s presented the “Envelope Boat Shoes” (60,000 yen) in collaboration with Oki Sato-led design office “nendo” at Milano Salone, which was held until Apr 13.
Under the theme “Modern Classic,” Sato reinterpreted the iconic deck shoes from Tod’s. Spending roughly one year, Sato designed a pair of shoes in his own taste. The name “Envelope” expresses the shoes enveloping the feet of the wearer.
Soft leather is used for the toes and suede for the quarter and backstay, with one of the sides adorned with the tie-string of an envelope. The shoes introduce water repellent leather, anti-rust rings and non-slip side soles, making them also suitable as sailing shoes for boat races.
To be in stores worldwide including Tod’s stores in Milan, Rome, Paris, London and New York. In Japan, will go on sale at the beginning of May at the Omotesando, Tokyo boutique. Available in the colors green, blue, gray, brown, black and more. Sizes 5 to 10 (approx. 24 to 29 cm).
