GAP teams up with art/fashion magazine “VISIONAIRE” for the second time to line up limited edition T-shirts.
Seven items from the collection introduce the theme “Solar” and use ink reactive to UV rays, which was specially created for VISIONAIRE. Artworks by Ugo Rondinone, Peter Lindbergh, Alex Katz, Yoko Ono, Francois Berthoud, Roe Ethridge and Richard Phillips transform into bright colors under sunlight.
T-shirts with prints of photos taken by Mario Sorrenti, Marc Quinn and Tony Oursler will also be available. The T-shirt dubbed “Grow Love With Me” by Yoko Ono, which was a hit in the previous series, is re-introduced with combinations of white and gold foil. Each design is available in limited numbers of 500 and will be sold at major GAP flagships around the world and selected stores that carry VISIONAIRE products. In Japan, 50 shirts of each design will be sold at GAP’s Harajuku, Tokyo flagship.
VISIONAIRE is a New York based magazine that publishes limited copies of its issues. Each issue comes with an individual number. It was first launched in the spring of 1991 and continues to publish unique content with different themes and formatting for each issue. Up until now, the works of renowned creators such as Andy Warhol, David Bowie and Zaha Hadid have been introduced. This year, it collaborates with GAP to create special edition T-shirts based on the themes and artworks of past and upcoming issues of the magazine.
