The Japanese version of the music video for Pharrell Williams’s hit single “Happy” has been released. Japanese stars including Kiko Mizuhara, Funassyi and Kobukuro accompany Williams in the video.

Creative director NIGO(R), a longtime friend of Williams, directed the piece. The song has ranked number 1 on the iTunes chart in 175 countries as well as on national charts of over 20 countries. The hit is recorded in the new album after 8 years “Girl,” which was released on Apr 30.

Participating Artists: Kiko Mizuhara, Arata Iura, Noriyuki Makihara, VERBAL (m-flo), Kazuchika Okada and Shinsuke Nakamura (New Japan Pro Wrestling), Kishidan, Toshinobu Kubota, Motofumi “Poggy” Kogi (United Arrows), Kobukuro, Scha Dara Parr, DJ LOVE (Sekai No Owari), DEXPISTOLS, TERIYAKI BOYZ (R), NAOTO and MATSU (EXILE), BiS, Funassyi, YOON (AMBUSH(R)) and Wakadanna.

Williams is currently visiting Japan and he will perform for the TV Asahi’s show “Music Station” on May 16. His stage costume will include collaboration items with UNIQLO and G-Star RAW.
