Collaboration T-shirts by adidas Originals and ten brands are being sold exclusively on the first floor of Isetan Shinjuku. Until May 27. Dubbed the “adidas Originals Enjin Collection,” the designs are inspired from the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil.
Under the motto “Japan, Form a Circle,” adidas is engaging in projects to prepare the country for the upcoming event. The brand serves as the official supplier for the Japan National Football Team. The collaboration T-shirts kicked-off as the concept tied in with Isetan Mitsukoshi’s “Global Green Campaign” themed after the bonds between people.
Isetan Mitsukoshi selected ten brands that have ties with Isetan Men’ Building to design the T-shirts. The lines adorning the back of the shirts form a circle when eleven players huddle on the field and represent solidarity. This design is the same as that of the official Japanese uniforms. The color of the lines was selected by the designers of the ten brands. Priced at 7,900 yen each.
“The project was realized through the ties between Isetan Mitsukoshi and the selected brands. We want our customers to feel a sense of unity by wearing the T-shirts and cheering on the Japan Team,” explained a rep from the department store.
Blue T-shirts designed by the ten brands decorate the event space along with artificial black grass on the floor.
The number of shirts sold will be displayed each day at the event space. Misangas designed by adidas corresponding to this number will be sent as gifts to children living in Kamaishi-shi, Iwate. The city was selected for this project as adidas plans to hold public viewings of the World Cup here.
