A pop-up event by Japanese brand “DRESSCAMP” is currently open at Tokyo Kaihouku of Isetan Shinjuku (2F).
The theme of the event is “Gorgeous.” Feminine and brilliant colored textiles accentuated with frills, fur, lace and chiffon are introduced as part of the brand’s 2014-15 AW collection. The charm of the event is that it introduces a combination of runway styles and practical items.
The customized “Lame Jacquard Skirt” (48,000 yen) and “Damask Pattern Skirt with Flocky Lining” (35,000 yen), along with “Fur Strap Bag” (78,000 yen) are being sold as items which can be styled with daily wear.
The highlight of the event is the collaboration collection with popular manga “The Rose of Versailles.” Cut-and-sews adorned with original illustrations of either Oscar or Andre or the manga logo (16,000 yen to 17,000 yen), stoles (17,000 yen), folding fans (5,000 yen) and more are in store. The illustration of roses accompanying the designs was handled by designer Toshikazu Iwaya. The interior of the event space is decorated with motifs from the manga, which overlaps with DRESSCAMP’s seasonal theme, “The Threepenny Opera.”
The first thirty to make purchases at the event will receive an invitation to the talk event to be held on Sept 5 featuring Iwaya and Natsuki Mizu, former top star for Snow Troupe of Takarazuka Revue. Mizu played both roles of Oscar and Andre during her career at Takarazuka.
