Yohji Yamamoto presented its 2015-16 A/W men’s collection on Jan 22 during Paris Fashion Week.
For the first look, a model wearing makeup resembling soot smeared on his face appeared, sporting a double-breasted jacket and wide-pants. The all-black ensemble is chic and iconic to the brand.
Patchworks of various materials including a black-tweed ensemble with patchworks of glossy fabrics in the same color on the pockets and knees made strong impressions. Combinations of colors created with different textiles were presented on a single design, such as multicolored jackets in gray and blue or red, and pants with slits producing complex patterns. Marble prints resembling the depth of a pond were also vividly portrayed.
Japanese model Louis Kurihara, who made his debut in Paris during the 2015 S/S season, made an appearance in the show.
