Petit Bateau will present a collection of collaboration items with Japanese designer Kenta Matsushige at the beginning of May.
Matsushige, having worked for esteemed fashion houses such as Dior, is known to be a passionate minimalist and is defined by his simple and structural designs. He is the winner of the Premiere Vision Grand Jury Prize at the 2014 Hyeres International Festival, the result of a unanimous decision.
As a reward for picking up the Prize, Matsushige received a carte blanche to design for Petit Bateau, a business partner of the Hyeres International Festival since 2013.
For the collaboration, Matsushige lines-up classic T-shirts in converted forms and layered prints creating reinvented sailor stripes. The collection draws inspiration from kimonos and revitalizes colors and materials classic to Petit Bateau.
